At Western, we want all children to know that they are artists and can draw, paint and sculpt to creatively express themselves through a range of mediums. We want children to be immersed in the design process and become reflective learners by showing an understanding of the journey and not just a finished piece.
We want all children to have the opportunity to develop their skills by continually evolving their technique and ideas when producing work. We want children to use a range of mediums before selecting the tools they want to use to express their ideas.
We work with artists from a range of external agencies to develop children’s work in the community. We have achieved our Artsmark ‘Gold’ school.
