Children use their creativity, imagination and problem solving skills to plan, design and create products in context. They are given opportunities to gain life skills and consider their own wants and values through the process to become independent thinkers.
Children establish an understanding of how Design and Technology impacts the world around them and contributes to society and the career options available to them in their futures. It helps children to think through problems creatively, about how to organise themselves and how to use knowledge and skills to bring about change and to shape the environment. Through design and technology children become discriminating and informed users of products and become innovators.
