Welcome to Friends of Western (FoW)
We are Friends of Western, the Parent Teacher Association (PTA) for Western Community Primary School.
We are a group of parents, grandparents and carers that care relentlessly about raising funds to make our children’s scgool an amazing place to learn, love and grow.
Did you know that if you’re a parent, grandparent or carer of a child at Western then you are already apart of our FoW family.
What does FoW do?
We hold regular meetings at the school to discuss, plan and execute events throughout the school year. These events include Crazy Hair Day, Cake sales, The big Christmas raffle and an Annual Summer Picnic, plus many more events. All these events have enabled us to fund many different things for our children such as Animal Handling workshops, Productions by visiting theatre companies and puddle suits for the children in early years. These funds also go towards extras within the school that otherwise wouldn’t be possible without us.
Do you have spare tome, ideas to share or just love a good natter?
Please come and join is at our next coffee morning, we have several of these meetings throughout the school year. – You can find our next meeting date and time in our FoW newsletter (which can be found below) or via the School Gateway App where you will be notified of our next coffee morning. (these also include the much needed biscuit and sometimes cupcakes) Don’t worry if you cannot make it to our meeting as any little bit of really does go a long way. We love to share ideas and make group decisions about the types of activities we can organise and the best ways to utilise the money we raise.
