We encourage each child’s music journey through inspiring their creativity and self-expression. We aim to foster a lifelong love of music by exposing children to a diverse range of musical experiences.
Music is taught using the ‘Charanga’ scheme of work, supported by music teaching from specialist music teachers from the Music Hub. Children are provided with opportunities for whole-class instrumental teaching including recorder and ukulele. Children in KS2 have the opportunity to take guitar lessons.
All children from Early Years to Y6 gain experience in performing as part of our Christmas performances. In KS2, our summer shows allow all children to participate and perform in large-scale musicals. Previous shows include Oliver!, Annie, The Lion King, Hairspray and Bugsy Malone.
